Cotality/Symbility costs $95 per month to use, and that includes Workspace access. Cotality is the new name for Symbility, so you will see both names. If you only need a Symbility estimate converted or written, you do not need Symbility access at all.

What Symbility costs

Using Cotality/Symbility costs $95 per month, including Workspace access. There is no special certification to create estimates in it. Anyone who learns the software can write an estimate. Confirm current pricing and terms with Cotality before you sign up, because prices can change.

Symbility is now called Cotality

Cotality is the new name for Symbility. Pricing pages, carrier emails and older guides may say Symbility, while newer ones say Cotality. They describe the same estimating software, which is why this site writes Cotality/Symbility. For more on the software itself, read what Symbility estimating software is.

Do you need to pay for Symbility?

Only if you want to write estimates inside Symbility yourself. Most contractors and public adjusters do not. They need one of three things instead:

  • A Symbility estimate they received as a PDF, converted to Xactimate via EstimateHub so they can review or rebuild it.
  • A Cotality/Symbility estimate written for them. We write the estimate in Symbility and send you the underlying file and a final PDF estimate.
  • Both, for a claim that moves between carriers.

What it costs to convert a Cotality/Symbility estimate

Your first conversion is free, with no credit card. After that, PDF to ESX pricing is per file: $40 for 1 file, $175 for a 5 pack ($35 a file), or a monthly plan from $250. Lines over the included count cost 15 to 25 cents each, depending on the plan. Start with the Cotality/Symbility to ESX converter.

What it costs to have the estimate written for you

Our Cotality/Symbility estimate writing starts from $80. We write the estimate in Symbility and send you the underlying Symbility file and a final PDF estimate, so you get a finished estimate even if you never use Symbility yourself. The final price depends on the size of the loss and the scope. See the service page for current prices.

Which should you choose?

Step 1. Do you already have the Symbility PDF and want it in Xactimate? Convert it.

Step 2. Do you have photos, measurements or a scope but no estimate? Have one written. You do not need Symbility access.

Step 3. Do you build estimates in Symbility every day for a carrier? Use Cotality/Symbility directly at $95 per month.
